                 The Binder Thief
               By James

One day at my school my social studies teacher was blabbering about something tedious and everyone was half asleep. A boy named David was the only one paying attention. There was one lucky person whose desk was empty and didn’t have to listen to this. Jake, my friend, who was completely zoned out ignored my constant whispering.

“Mom I am so worried about me being at a new school and it starts tomorrow! What if I don’t make the volleyball team there? What if they don’t even have a volleyball team there? I need volleyball because it would help me get a fresh start and a new start to school!”I said.

                      Narly the Narwhal
                        By Graci

Narly swam home mournful because he doesn’t fit in with the others. He saw the usual sights but they didn’t seem the same. He passed the shipwreck and the coral, it didn't seem as colorful though. He justed wanted to go home and tell his mom what happened. Once he got there he told her the whole story.

             Just a City Girl
                By Louise

The woman in a daring pale pink dress with polka-dots and tight bodice said in an almost not understandable french accent, “Sir? You look tired, we should call it a day, or should I say night?” The police officer blushed and Helen glanced down at her black lace gloves. Her hands were holding each others, she had been on edge since she saw the body learned this wasn’t all a joke.

              Just Rambling
                By Whitley

I stared at the white tile as I strided down the hall of my new middle school. My hands had always brushed the beige wall as I passed by. I had just moved to Lincoln, Idaho at the time. My mom had gotten a job offer when we lived in L.A., and now I’m here. It was early July when my parents finally found a middle school for me and luckily got me in, in time to go to school like all the normal kids.

              The Lightning ϟ
                By Jackson

Tanks and trucks roll through the streets. Soldiers stomp through, each one has a devilish look on their face. Their eyes have anger in them, their eyebrows arched, their mouths at resting position the faces of killers. A woman cradles her child in her arms she thinks about how many people each one of them killed she estimates each has killed once before.

                 Mystery on Occidendum Hill
                 By Walker

It was Sunday, around eight thirty. I was awakened by the deafening sound of a tractor horn blasting outside. I went over to the fogged up window in my room to see what the fuss was about. I pressed my hand against it, and it was frozen to the touch. I saw Ma’ in the driver’s seat of our old four seat car. She looked like she was in a worse mood than usual.

            The Magic Rubix Cube
                 By Ayslee

The father smiled brightly at the thought of getting his daughter a gift. It was fun and quirky Rubix cube, he found it at a thrift shop while he was buying some clothes and bedsheets. It was getting colder and they needed something to keep them warm. They lived up in the high Country, in the state of Tennessee.  The reason he even took the cube was because it was free and the store owner was begging for the man to take it away. He even gave him $5 off the order. Even though the deal seemed slightly sketchy it was fine by the customer.

               Lost and Found
                   By Stella

“Grab onto something! This is going to be a rough landing!” she yelled.
Daniel looked over at Ashley, and for the first time in his life, he saw real, genuine fear in her eyes. He grabbed her hand, and braced himself.
“It’s gonna be OK, Danny,” Ashley said, trying and failing to convince herself of that. “It’s gonna be OK-”
A scream pierced the air, and she knew no more.

             Illuminati Confirmed
                By Pratham

Will and I ran to get the guns but we go the other way when we heard gunfire. We saw dead cops and we know we’re in trouble. We all ran through a secret underground railroad. We get on the train and grandmother drove us to  the pentagon. Unfortunately the passage was blocked half way.

       Don't Look Out the Window
              By Taylor

“Where do you think you’re going Landon?” Mom said in her not so happy tone.
“To the store, I’ll be back in ten minutes.”
“Fine but be quick you know your father doesn’t like you to go places when you’re grounded….even to the store!” mom replied in a whisper/shout tone, probably so dad didn’t hear her.

             Make It Count
               By Virginia

It is always early in the morning when I wake up, the birds chirping and the horses form the barn next door. Everything is peaceful until reality sets in. the reality of the death of my mother, but most of all, the new man that is waiting for me down stairs expecting his cup of coffee and his buttered toast. Wel he is not new, he is my dad, but ever since my mom died he has been taking all in sadness out in anger on me so I avoid him the best I can.

                 Fighting For My Life
                  By Hope

A girl stands at the edge of a cliff, reciting something. A peregrine falcon slices through the air, her eyes gray and stormy. “At last all three are joined together, and bonds of blood will not be severed.” Three voices chant together. A girl with silky black hair darts through the forest that’s filled with people, jumping and twirling with inhuman speed.

                  By Kayla

‘’Didn't you hear them I think they have my aunt!’’I say.
“The one that is not alive?’’ Alexa asks, like she thinks I may have hit my head.
‘’No the one that may still be alive…,’’ I  think out loud.’’What if my aunt never died but was just captured and couldn’t get home.’’

“Nooo!” said Pomti. “What?” Beanie said. “You CAN NOT talk to them.” replied Pomti . “Why? It doesn’t matter.” Beanie yelled. “Shhhh” “Since the beginning of time they knew animals couldn’t talk. If you talked to them they would freak out.”

            A Break to Remember
                   By Olivia

On our way to the scene  I found out that the library books had been sabotaged! I was as happy as a pig in mud that somethin’ had happened.
Once we got there we found the very dramatic librarian, Ms. Hanegen pitching a fit.
