Desert Dust
by Rachel

Ambrogio watched as Moony put on his jacket. He clenched his teeth and crossed his arms, unhappy that he’d forgotten how cold deserts get at night – but as always, he didn’t let that interfere with the hopeful mood he had worked to keep up consistently. He just wished he had his own jacket.

It has divided us. Humanity against technology, and we are losing. Few remain as the taken advance on the survivor camps. Taken, the ones who have been chipped, the ones who were corrupted, the ones who have been lost to The Awakening. We have a camp made up of a few dozen survivors; however, I only trust five.

Thara: Falling Stars
by Annalise

Something about the sprawling city of Athens drew Thara. It was so different from her own kick back and relaxed life of an immortal. It seemed like mortals always had somewhere to go and something to do. She supposed that mortals should be busy, as they didn’t have a lot of time to accomplish anything before they died. Or that was at least how she viewed them. Mortals were to her like ants were to humans.

Wolf Hunt
by Victoria

March 15, 2017 the day that I turn twenty. Me and my two best friends had gone out the amusement park up on Campbell Hill in Ohio. Lucy was my roommate and an all time neat freak. Then there was Toby. Toby was really intelligent. Give him any problem and he could solve it within a minute. Both of them dared me to get on the tallest rollercoaster in the park called the Exploding Mud Ball.It didn't have the best looking color but it made up in color with the amount of loops, tall drops, and fast sprints that it had. While we were waiting in line I was thinking.
I feel like I'm going to puke after I get off this ride.

Sunset
by Derrien

Sian was flying. The wind roared loudly in her ears, and the sky loomed beautiful before her, its blue streaked with white clouds. Her heart felt so full with fright and happiness, she felt ready to burst. Her screams and shouts were lost in the biting wind, but she still screamed until her throat was hoarse. A smile of pure joy settled across her lips.

It was Graduation Day for Christopher Gopen. He had been waiting so long for this day to come, and it finally had. The banners were on the wall, the music was playing, and the awards were being received. Being Valedictorian, Christopher was expected to give a speech. That was exactly what he was going to do, but first he had to receive his award. “And the award for Valedictorian goes to Christopher Gopen, who has had perfect grades for all three of the years he has spent at Harvard.” I walk out onto the stage to receive my award. After a distinguished handshake with my professor, I strolled up to the podium, prepared to give my speech

A Collection of Short Stories
by Allison

Her chest heaved in and out, as she made her way through the smoke. She raised her arms above her head as she rammed against the structure of the door. A thud echoed through the flaming building. She could do this. She wasn’t sure what had happened or where everyone else was but she knew she had to get out. Casting her eyes around the enclosed room she moved to the door, the only exit seen. It was stuck. She began to cough a bit more as extra smoke drifted into the room. Covering her face with her shirt, she began to feed herself encouragement. She could do this.

That is private information that you don’t need to know. You think I’m going to eventually give in and tell you where I live, don’t you? Well, you’re correct. I live on Oak Street in Willow City. A Memory for a Murderer

A blanket of clouds covered the sky. People with grim faces and black umbrellas walked down the sidewalks in tight crowds. Rain drizzled lightly on the steps leading up to a tall, dull apartment. Somewhere inside, on the third or fourth floor, sat a 24 year old woman in her small bedroom with curly red hair, pale green eyes, and the worst headache in the world.
